I have announced that I am a candidate for the Newport City Council. I have enjoyed living in Newport for over 33 years and would like to work on the complex issues facing the city. I feel that my knowledge of the workings of the city will aid me in working for the citizens of our community. I formally worked for the Newport Police Department for 29 years and know how the city operates. I have seen the city in good times and bad and want to make sure that as we go forth that they are good times.
The city has some issues facing it financially that will require some tough choices and I feel that I can work to make the proper choices.
