Accountability. I believe that Newport City Council members and city management need to be held accountable for their decisions in all areas of operation in Newport. For example, making sure that projects are done in a timely manner and that grants be finished on time.

Responsiveness: I will insure that your voice is heard before the council and that your opinion will be respected. With my Council Colleagues, I will work hard to make sure your opinions will be incorporated into final decisions.

Preparedness: I believe that emergency preparedness starts with the individual. We need to educate ourselves and prepare ourselves for any manmade or natural disaster that may occur here. We must make a family plan, get a disaster kit and keep informed as to preparedness issues.

Budget: I will work to insure that our city budget is on sound financial ground. In this time of financial instability, we need to work harder with the fewer resources we have. We need to explore other options other than raising taxes and fees in a bad economy. Frugality must start with government.

Employee Involvement: We need to seek city employee involvement and input as to what can be done to save money at the ground level. True leadership is inclusion not exclusion.
I am asking for your vote for Newport City Council. If elected, it will be my honor and privilege to serve you. If you wish to contact me please email me at retcop@charter.net
